Dr. Joseph Smillie
Dr. Joseph Smillie knows that most people simply desire a healthy smile they’ll be able to share every day. As a veteran of high-volume dental practices and a Florida native, he knows that with a careful hand and a craftsman’s touch, anyone can achieve the smile they desire. Today, Dr. Joseph runs his own private practice, helping Port Orange area residents achieve the aesthetic they’ve always dreamed of, and making sure their smiles last a lifetime.

Dr. Helen Smillie
Dr. Helen was born and raised in Honolulu, Hawaii. She later moved to Ormond Beach with her family. She attended Spruce Creek High School here in Port Orange, where she completed the International Baccalaureate program. She then attended the University of Florida where she received her Bachelor of Science degree in biology. She also attended Barry University, where she received her master’s degree in biomedical sciences. She decided to pursue a career in dentistry after growing up being very self-conscious of her smile and seeing how confident she felt after having her bite corrected. She went on to study at Nova Southeastern University, where she received her Doctorate in Dental Medicine. It was there that she met her future husband, Dr. Joe.

Very friendly and attentive service. I didn’t have to wait at all unlike my old dentist office where I had an appointment but it still took them over 30 min before they see me. I was so relieved to learn I didn’t have to have a mold impression made for Invisalign, but instead Dr Smillie uses fancy technology to take digital impressions that don’t hurt or make me gag! It was quick and painless. The girl at the counter was friendly as well. The office and Dr were very cleanly and everything looks all new. I’ll definitely be back!

I was really excited to come home to Port Orange and try out this new dental practice since I’ve been away at school in another state. Dr. Joe Smillie was super nice and easygoing. He replaced my crown and did a wonderful job on a tooth that’s been bothering me for years! He prepped the tooth for the crown and the camera they used to create a 3D image reconstruction was really cool. I got to see what it looked like after he was done scanning. I’ve been to a bunch of dentist offices and this place is by far my favorite! His team used a few new things in this procedure that made the process so much easier and more enjoyable. The office is also really beautiful and clean. I look forward to future appointments!
