What

Are The Benefits Of Dentures?

Dentures have a number of unique benefits that make them a great option if you want to restore your smile. First, they are very affordable. Dentures are usually the cheapest way to replace all of your missing teeth, and they are typically covered by all major dental insurance plans. If you want to restore your smile but you’re on a tight budget, dentures are likely the best option for you.

In addition, dentures provide fast results. You can usually have your dentures built in just 2-4 weeks, allowing you to quickly and easily restore your smile and get back to your normal, day-to-day routine.

Finally, dentures will help restore your self-confidence, and allow you to continue to eat your favorite foods. You can speak clearly, eat without any pain, discomfort, or difficulties, and enjoy your life without worrying about your teeth.

What to Expect

Are Dentures Comfortable?

Yes! When properly made and fitted, dentures are very comfortable. Dr. Joseph Smillie and Dr. Helen Smillie use the latest technology to take impressions and images of your teeth, and work with highly-reputable dental labs to ensure that your dentures will feel comfortable.

However, it may take a little bit of time to get used to wearing your dentures. It’s common to get a few sore spots on your gums as they toughen up, and you may also notice that your mouth is producing more saliva than usual. Both of these issues will go away after a few weeks.

In addition, you’ll usually come in for a follow-up appointment a little while after you get your dentures, so that your doctor can check for any sore spots or signs that your dentures may need to be adjusted. This ensures that you won’t feel any pain or discomfort while wearing your new set of teeth!

Keeping Your New Smile Bright

How Do I Care for Dentures?

First, make sure you rinse off your dentures and clean your gums after every meal. This prevents the buildup of plaque and bacteria that can irritate your gums.

You’ll also need to brush your gums and dentures at least once per day to remove plaque and bacteria. Most patients choose to do this at night before bed, before they remove their dentures for the night.

When you remove your dentures for the night, you should soak them in a denture cleaner. Denture cleaners help kill bacteria and keep your dentures moist. For more information, just ask Dr. Helen or Dr. Joseph after you receive your dentures. They will give you a comprehensive set of instructions on how to care for your new teeth.
